The Southern District was formed in 1989, becoming the 7th district to join the FSA (Florida Shuffleboard Association. We had 56 affiliated clubs supporting us and 3,951 members. The first ever Southern District tournament was held at Citrus Park (now Bonita Terra) in Bonita Springs on November 9 1989.
We presently have 25 affiliated clubs who belong to our association. Our district tournaments are held every Thursday at 8:30 am. The season runs October through March. It’s only $8.00 to enter with cash prizes for the winners. State tournaments are played every Monday throughout the State of Florida, including some here in our district.

To all our Southern District Shuffleboard Members.
After serving for 8 years on the Southern District Board of Directors, it is now a great honor to serve as your President. I replaced John Jefferson in October of 2023 and I am happy to help in any way to promote our beloved game of shuffleboard.
John has been an excellent President for the last 3 years and I hope to continue his legacy.
I am a lover of the game of shuffleboard and share in your enjoyment of this sport. As many of you know, I also Direct Tournaments, it is a challenging and delightful task that I really care a lot about because of the passion I see in you, the players. Shuffleboard is a very exciting and competitive game.
I know I have a lot to learn, but I care deeply about your concerns and welcome your feedback. If you have anything you wish to discuss with me, please contact me by email or text.
I am poud to be your representative.

The following Clubs host tournaments in our District
The ‘Bucks’ are no strangers to the Southern District. Ray has served on the Board for many years, he is a Past President and presently holds the position of State Delegate. Joan served as the secretary and is now one of our Tournament Directors. They are dedicated members, always willing to offer a helping hand. Thankyou for all the motivation and encouragement you’ve given throughout the years.
Two Newbie tournaments are held each season, to introduce and encourage new players to come out and give shuffleboard a try. Ray Buck and his wife Joan along with many volunteers organize the one day tournaments for players who have not won in any position in any shuffleboard tournament. Ray uses the singles mingles format for these tournaments which is appealing to the new players. The courts are prepared by the hard working men and women who are there to encourage the newbie’s to have fun. Coffee and donuts are supplied and are free to all participants. Between 30-40 men and women show up in hopes of being the top winner. (Remember these men and ladies are like you, who have never won anything in a shuffleboard tournament). The first place prize, usually of a new cue donated by Allen R Shuffleboard. Seven additional cash prizes are awarded. Congratulations to all the winners. Its always a great day for shuffleboard.
The Southern District holds these events, not to raise money or get donations, but rather we are trying to introduce shuffleboard to people, in hopes they will stay and enjoy the game as much as we do. Look for upcoming events on our Bulletin Board.
Free Shuffleboard Lessons are offered at certain times of the season. You don’t need equipment or reservations to attend these lessons, just show up on any given Saturday.
Watch for upcoming times and dates posted on this website.
